Algebra 2... and you!
We use math in our every day life weather we know it or not, here's an interesting quote.
"When will we ever use math in real life?"
Guess who said it? . . . every student has said it. It's interesting to see and figure out the small ways we learn to use math in the real world.
1. Cell Phones! Almost everyone has a cell phone now a days, it's just a basic part of life. We use them to communicate to one another. We need math to use the basic functions of a phone, when we notice or not. Technology is huge.
2. Money money money. We use math when we use money, obviously right? As we get older, we realize the more income we'll be making, the more math we'll have to do. Bills don't pay themselves. When you take out a loan, you have to know how much you can pay back, how much to keep for bills, and how much your interest rate will be! Fun, right?
3. Going on a trip. Need a day trip? Well, if you don't use math then you probably won't even start your car. You need to figure out how much gas you put in your car, how far you're going, and how much money you'll need for food. (unless you don't eat then... okay)
4. Art! How's art class going? What? You haven't been in art since middle school? Well, Math still applies to art. If you ever catch yourself making a drawing, you're gonna want angles and symmetry. Math is a great part of how to keep everything in balance.
5. In the kitchen? Yeah, in the kitchen too. We use math to figure out the ingredients for, well, everything we cook. If you need to bake a pizza at 425 degrees, better know how to get to 425 degrees. You need 4 cups of cheese, but only have a pint cup? Well, that's 2 pints of cheese, but you'll need more math than just that.
6. Planning a party! Everyone loves to party. If you're hosting, you need to figure out multiple things: amount of people, amount of food and beverages, time to starts and end, and the number of activities you can have going on. All of that involves math, and you'll need to plan accordingly to have a rocking party.

Goals and Plans:
Chad: My goals are to start studying better to get some better test scores and to raise my current grade in the class. As far as plans for my future I don't plan on getting a job that involves a lot of math.
Hunter: My goal for this class is to do good on the ACT. My plans are to go to a good college for a better future.

Andrew: My goal is to use the math we've learned to help me get a good score on my ACT and to finish this class with a B or better on my report card. I also hope to go to a University in Michigan and get a good job.
